Carol Reed 1 - murder in Sweden
Sweden is now known as the home of renowned crime writers like Henning Mankell and Håkan Nesser. The created with Adventure Maker "Carol Reed", which could now enjoy a number of successor, also has Swedish roots. But the potential has the independent Nordic Adventure?
While on holiday in Sweden, Carol Reed, the English woman learns that a new friend of her, the private investigator Conrad bird has died. Known by him to share with Carol, that they suspect behind it a murder, and so begins our heroine to determine on their own initiative. Soon they carry the traces to the research firm Vivatech, whose head Madeleine Grip apparently was not seen anymore. This detective story knows how to please, although it is not particularly complex, because although without much action or exciting highlights can always retain their power. The puzzles require only locally, because in most cases it is obvious what to do at the places to be explored. In addition, the inventory remains clear. A soft spot for authors seem to have the key that we need to collect some in the game.
The backgrounds consist of photographs of the Swedish city Norköpping pertaining to the game of course, as the setting. A surreal touch to get this Snapshots from the use of graphics filters that transform those really realistic images in watercolors. Dire acts "murder in Sweden," so rare, as the bright colors dominate. All this makes the adventure but a great character. Even the stagnation due to lack of animation has a more elaborate character. The dialogue partners are in a way an actor, but were also integrated into the immobile scene pictures and change the time to pose. If you look in one place, one must click through virtually a flood of backgrounds which results from an incredible amount of different perspectives. Very nice, I found it through the city to walk by and Norköpping there to inspect the local attractions. Overall, a wonderful atmosphere is offered. The quiet, emotional music has promised me, especially the title song, which occurs always in new variations brought us a great listening experience. It was also conscious decision not to film sequences or spectacular discharges. One is introduced in the story by reading a postcard from Carol's girlfriend. 
photographic backgrounds make me partially sentimental. They are somehow in a different time and that is why it has a special value, if I get to see the latest in an adventure game again. In other areas could convince the crime, atmospheric and musically. "Murder in Sweden" is a good start to an interesting series with high potential. Producer: MDNA Games
